Aarav sat on the rooftop, staring at the empty sky. It was the first time he had seen a night without stars. He had heard legends about such nights—nights when the universe whispered secrets only a few could hear.
He checked his phone. No messages. No calls. Just silence. It had been a tough day—his job interview had gone terribly wrong, and he had fought with his best friend over something trivial.
Suddenly, a cold gust of wind made him shiver. That’s when he saw it—a single star flickering in the distance. His heart skipped a beat.
The star grew brighter, then dimmer, as if blinking at him. His grandmother once told him, "Stars guide those who listen." He smiled at the memory. Maybe he should listen.
Taking a deep breath, he picked up his phone and dialed his best friend’s number. The call rang once. Twice. Then, a hesitant “Hello?”
“Hey, I’m sorry,” Aarav said.
A pause. Then a sigh. “Me too.”
Aarav smiled. The star twinkled, as if approving.
And just like that, more stars began to appear, one by one, filling the sky.
The universe had whispered, and he had listened.
